Having to spend a lot of time on enrolling your new employees on a pension scheme if they qualify to be a part of it can take a lot of time when it can easily be done with automation through auto-enrolment once an employee has been set up. The system analyses whether the employee qualifies and if they do, the employee will be automatically set up on your organisation’s pension system and plan.
Previously it was up to the employee whether or not they wanted to be enrolled but today, they must automatically be enrolled and may write to opt-out should they wish to.
Companies failing to comply with the legal requirement in setting up the employee will be considered as breaking the law as this is employers’ obligation to do so.
Should for any reason employers be unable to set up a pension pot for their employee, they must write to inform the employee and make payback for the months missed.
