Problems identified
At the onset of Auto Enrolment, CBS wanted to launch a Master Trust that was easy for the employers to register, set up, and use. As the initial business is all high volume and low margin, it was extremely important that the solution be fully automated and scalable.

The Solution
CTC deployed AE Direct to handle all the Auto Enrolment registration and ongoing assessment.
AE Direct provides an intuitive, client-centric web portal supporting the payroll administrator through each payroll period’s regulatory activities of AE compliance. AE Direct is payroll system agnostic and includes the generation of all regulatory communications and reporting.
AE Direct also provides a sophisticated administrative portal, powered by CTC’s wider administration capabilities, to support ongoing management of employee data.
The outcome
AE Direct has been a continuing success for CBS and as of 1.11.19 processes: over 14,000 employers and 150,000 employees every month are helping CBS to be one of the very few profitable Master Trusts. CTC and CBS are continuing to work together as strategic partners to innovate in the workplace pensions market.
